Elon Musk announces new timeline for sending Starship spacecraft to Mars

Elon Musk, the owner of SpaceX, Tesla, and the microblogging site X (formerly Twitter), has already announced plans to establish a human settlement on Mars in the next few years. Although the possible time to send the Starship spacecraft to Mars has been said to be 2026, he has now released a new schedule. Elon Musk said that the possible launch date of Starship has been set for 2028. First, unmanned flights will be conducted. Then, in 2030, a spacecraft with humans will be sent to Mars.

SpaceX has recently faced a series of failures in the launch of Starship and problems with propellant refueling in space. Therefore, Elon Musk has slightly changed the timeline of the Mars mission. He also said that several critical milestones must be achieved to make the Mars mission successful.

Elon Musk expressed optimism about the Mars mission to SpaceX employees after the launch of Flight 9 earlier this year. However, Flight 9 lost control during re-entry and was destroyed. Therefore, considering the overall situation, Elon Musk has set a new goal for Starship’s Mars mission.

Elon Musk is very optimistic about the Starship program. That’s why he is prioritizing the thermal management of the Starship spacecraft and rocket recovery for long trips. Not only that, Elon Musk wants to reduce the dependence on the Falcon rocket by improving the quality of the Starship rocket.

  • New planet likely to exist just 4.37 light years away from Earth

New planet likely to exist just 4.37 light years away from Earth

The distance that light travels in a year is measured in light years. In this way, one light year is 6 trillion miles. This time, NASA’s James Webb Space Telescope has identified a possible planet 4.37 light years away from Earth. The planet is orbiting the sun-like star ‘Alpha Centauri A’. The planet is gaseous and is not suitable for life. Although scientists are calling this new discovery a planet for now, further observations and analysis will be required to confirm.

Alpha Centauri is a star system with three stars. In addition to Alpha Centauri A, there are Alpha Centauri B and the red dwarf Proxima Centauri. Two confirmed planets of Proxima have already been known. Proxima B is located there as a habitable planet. There has been a long-standing interest in Alpha Centauri. It is similar to our sun. The discovery of a new planet around the star Alpha Centauri has received a lot of attention.

According to scientists, the planet is located in the habitable zone of the star Alpha Centauri. They are located at a distance of two astronomical units from the host star. The gaseous planet is located in an area where liquid water can exist. Being a gaseous planet, the possibility of life there is low. The James Webb Telescope used its mid-infrared instrument and coronagraphic mask to suppress the overwhelming light coming from Alpha Centauri. From there, the planet’s faint sample signature can be detected.

The planet is about 10,000 times fainter than its host star. The telescope is quite sensitive and has detected the existence of the planet. Charles Beichman of NASA’s Exoplanet Science Institute said that because Alpha Centauri is closer than this, there is an opportunity for further study of the planet in the future.
